Description: This resembles machine chain, but with heavier links. It comes in plain, galvanized, or zinc-coated steel.
Buying information: This type of chain is somewhat stronger than machine chain. It comes in various diameters. The 1/4-inch size has a working load limit of 1,250 pounds; 5/16-inch chain has a working load limit of 1,900 pounds. (If you need something stronger, get high-test grade 70 chain.) It is used for lifting engines and other jobs where great strength is required.
How-to hint: Links on this chain are shaped so that, when looped around something, the chain will grab and hold.
