Buying information: The great asset of a gate valve is that it allows almost unrestricted water flow -- more than other types of valves. It is commonly used as the main valve in the house, and therefore must be of high quality.
How-to hints: Every now and then, turn the handle on and off. Valves that are never turned deteriorate more quickly than ones that are occasionally turned.
