Buying information: Standard ornamental nails are used to fasten upholstery. The forged kind can be used to hang fireplace implements on masonry. Another type, called pyramid nails, can be used to fasten fine flooring.
How-to hints: To use forged nails to hang fireplace implements, first drill pilot holes in the masonry (holes should be slightly smaller than nail diameter) and drive them in with a small lump hammer or heavy claw hammer or framing hammer. Wear safety glasses or goggles.
