NOTE: For years, there was only one type of fitting for use with perforated hardboard, but in recent years slot hangers have become available.
Description: These come in a wide variety of shapes, made from hard wire.
Buying information: These fittings are hung in holes in the hardboard, and then things are secured to them -- everything from tools to shelves. It is best to get hardboard that has been enameled (or paint it yourself) to guard against warping. If you prefer to paint it yourself, starting with the bare board, be sure to do both sides.
