GATE HINGE
Description: This hinge has two parts: an L-shaped lag screw that screws into the fence post and a leaf with a knurled nut that fits over the L of the first part and is screwed to the gate. It is available in various sizes, but usually 5 or 6 inches. Gate hinges are usually painted black or galvanized.
Buying information: Gate hinges were designed to be mounted on round posts, but they can also be used on square ones.
How-to hint: Sinking the hinge screws is much easier if you first drill pilot holes.
