Buying information: Such handles are used to open and close casement windows. Sizes vary, so take the existing handle with you when you shop for a new one. You'll likely have better luck finding the piece you need at a home center than at a hardware store.
How-to hint: In some cases a handle that was welded on has broken off. If so, it may be possible to reattach it with a pair of sheet-metal screws driven into the holes where the existing screws were. Get the Phillips-head type so that you can turn them in well.
