NYLON ROPE
Description: This comes in woven and braided forms; the woven type has eight strands while the braided type has three. It comes in white only.
Buying information: Nylon is strong and stretches well. It is good for applications such as outboard motor starter cords, playground swings, and as a tow rope; it absorbs shock as it stretches. On the negative side, it has a low burning point. The braided form tends to unravel at the ends when cut.
How-to hint: To prevent the cut ends of braided rope from unraveling, melt the ends with a flame to form solid nubs.
