POP-UP DRAIN ASSEMBLY, LAVATORY PARTS
Description: This is basically a hollow tube on the top of which is a chrome stopper and below, jutting from a hole in the tube, a lever for controlling the stopper. Much of the device is inside the lavatory.
Buying information: The purpose of the pop-up drain is to stop and open up the lavatory for draining. If you buy the drain with a faucet, it will be much cheaper. You can replace just the plug, but only the specific manufacturer's size will work. Finding the plug needed might be difficult; the best course is probably to replace the entire assembly. These are commonly interchangeable.
How-to hint: To make removal of the assembly easier, use a special plug wrench designed for that purpose.
