Description: This is an adjustable horizontal bar usually 24 to 156 inches long, with eyes, manipulated by cords on the ends, that slide back and forth on it. Drapes on curtain folds are hooked into those eyes.
Buying information: Traverse rods serve the same purpose as standard rods, but come complete with hanging hardware in place. They come in center-pull and left- or right-pull versions for certain special installations.
How-to hint: Longer traverse rods come with a center bracket that should be used to ensure proper support.
