MASONRY PATCHERSFor masonry patching jobs, you can get the components for concrete and mortar, mix then up, and add water. But for a smaller job, premixed cement material (though in fact cement is only one component in the mix) works well; just add water and it's ready to use. Premixes come in 20- to 60pound bags. There are three basic premixed cements: mortar, concrete, and sand mix. They can be used for building things from scratch as well as for patching. It is amazing how big a bag of masonry mix looks when dry, but when mixed with water it can reduce to a surprisingly small amount of usable material. On a big job this can get costly. |
